The National Digital Health Mission Roadmap
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), spearheaded by the National Health Authority (NHA), is unifying India's healthcare landscape by establishing national digital standards for patient records, provider registries, and health data exchanges across hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic labs.
Breaking Down the Milestone Certifications (M1, M2, M3)
- Milestone 1 (M1) — ABHA Creation & Capture: Ability to generate and verify Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) via Aadhaar OTP or mobile, linking patient demographic identities to unique universal health identifiers.
- Milestone 2 (M2) — Health Facility Registry (HFR) & Professional Registry (HPR): Registering hospital infrastructure, bed allocations, and doctor credentials into verified national healthcare directories.
- Milestone 3 (M3) — Health Information Exchange (HIE-CM): Secure FHIR-based sharing of discharge summaries, diagnostic reports, and digital prescriptions across certified Health Information Provider (HIP) and User (HIU) nodes.
"HealthGrid ERP comes pre-certified for ABDM M1, M2, and M3, allowing hospitals to achieve instant compliance without hiring external integration engineers."
